Waterford is located in western Racine County, 25 miles west of the city of Racine and 72 miles east/southeast of Madison.  Its slow and steady population growth accelerated from 1990 to 2010, when its number of residents increased 120%.  The pace of growth cooled considerably during the most recent decennial census period.
