East Troy is located in the northeastern corner of Walworth County, 35 miles southwest of Milwaukee and 62 miles southeast of Madison.   Alpine Valley Music Theater, an outdoor venue, is located a few miles southwest of the village.

East Troy's population growth has accelerated since 1990, increasing 76% during the past 30 years.
