One of the opening questions in every Marquette poll is phrased as follows:
Some people seem to follow what's going on in politics most of the time, whether there's an election going on or not. Others aren't that interested. Would you say you follow what's going on in politics most of the time, some of the time, only now and then, or hardly at all?
In this year's February 22-27 poll, 62% of respondents replied "most of the time."

- Republican Rebecca Kleefisch served as Lieutenant Governor in the Scott Walker administration for 8 years.
- Democrat Mandela Barnes is currently Wisconsin's Lieutenant Governor and served two terms in the State Assembly (2013-2017).
- Republican Kevin Nicholson lost to Leah Vukmir in the 2018 GOP Wisconsin primary for U.S. Senate.
- Democratic Tom Nelson currently serves as Outagamie County Executive and previously served 3 terms in the State Assembly (2005-2011). In the 2010 gubernatorial election, he was Tom Barrett's running mate.
- Election denier Tim Ramthun is currently serving his second the State Assembly.
- Sarah Godlewski currently serves as State Treasurer.
