Excerpt: Based on past estimates, organizers are hopeful the third annual event, which is welcoming 48 authors and presenting 63 programs April 11-18, will draw crowds in the mid-to-upper thousands.
“We have people that are at each venue and they simply do a head count,” said book festival president Barbara Wentzel. “We were absolutely blown away by attendance at the first festival. The first year we had over 4,000. Last year’s festival was more than 6,000. When we increased attendance at the second festival we were like, OK, we have something good going here.”
This year’s event has expanded its schedule by two days in order to spread out author visits and related events over a longer time period.
Barbara Wentzel is the former, now retired, Director of the Kimberly-Little Chute Public Library.
