Public Libraries and Tax Forms: Sign o' the Times

Kenosha Public Library - Simmon Branch

Link to January 25 Kenosha News report, "Libraries to get off tax paper trail next year".

Excerpt: The Kenosha Public Library is reducing some of its paper collection, in the form of tax returns, but not until next year.

Signs have been placed in library branches stating that this is the last year paper tax return forms will be available.

Tom Carson, head of reference services for the Kenosha Public Library, said the action was due to decreased demand.

“More and more people are moving to the Internet for their tax returns,” Carson said. “A large percentage of people have already filed their taxes online.
