John Mica was first elected to the  Florida 7th in 1992.   Up until 2016, he had been re-elected ten times by large margins.  First-time Democratic candidate Stephanie Murphy used an anti-Trump message to oust the incumbent

Clinton won the district with 51.4% of the vote compared to 44.1% for Trump.
