Nonetheless, Hanna said he expects the site, if construction is OK'd, would be chosen jointly by the library board, the facilities committee and the Common Council.
"It's important to keep this process and conversation moving forward," Hanna said.
"There is a long way to go. My goal in 2010 is to make a decision whether or not a new library should be built or if an addition is built on to the existing library."Library Director Terry Dawson said the $75,000 budgeted for site selection could be used to pay for internal planning or to hire a consultant to help choose a site.
