Gov. Kim Reynolds is doubling down on her efforts to cut government with her new plan to launch Iowa's own "DOGE" task force, greasing the wheel for local governments to trim spending so Republican lawmakers can deliver property tax cuts this legislative session. 

The effort, modeled after the new federal Department of Government Efficiency launched by President-elect Donald Trump, will look to find areas where state and local governments can tighten their belts. No details have emerged yet on how the advisory panel will approach its work.
