GET ME REWRITE: Transphobia rears its ugly head in the Wisconsin State Senate

Assembly Bill 377, which passed 21-11, with Rep. Joan Ballweg, R-Markesan, voting no with every Democrat, would require Wisconsin schools to designate interscholastic, intramural or club athletic teams into categories based on the sex of the participating students. The bill would allow students to only join a team or sport designated for the sex they were assigned at birth.
