A very small surge

Still, county officials said that people should not be complacent. 

“We cannot ignore even a moderate rise in the level of infection,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett said. “We are not done yet. We’re close but we’re not done yet…. We must keep our guard up even as we make the effort to return.” 

His comments came the day after the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced plans to hold the Indy 500 at the end of next month at 40% capacity, the largest sporting crowd since the pandemic started.
