Linn County has remained reliably blue since 1988. Trump received just 768 more votes that Romney did in 2016 -- no indication of a "very loving area" for Trump.
On the other hand, Clinton received 9,646 fewer votes than Obama did in 2016, but Linn County voters casted 9,773 ballots for third party candidates that year. There was no rush into the arms of Trump.
