Once in a while, great singers absolutely ruin great songs
Exhibit A
Inexplicably, Frank's version of "Something" appears on his 1972 album, Frank Sinatra's Greatest Hits, Volume 2. This song receives way too much airplay on Siriusly Sinatra. I strongly object to AllMusic's "gorgeous arrangement" description.
Exhibit B
The Streisand cover appears on her 2012 album Release Me. It didn't make the cut for her 1967 album Simply Streisand. And for a good reason.
One of my favorite doo-wop songs, "Once in a While" by the Chimes debuted at #98 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending October 30, 1960. It spent 18 weeks on the chart, peaking at #11 in its 16th week.
Sorry, wrong number.
