Although they won't replace your oven, microwave or grill anytime soon, growing momentum among researchers, companies and consumers indicates printer will change the way people eat, eventually through homemade pastas, pizzas, burgers and even chicken nuggets.
Acccording to this 12/31/2014 CNN article, the initial target audience for the Natural Machines Foodini will be kitchen professionals. The price of a follow-up consumer version is expected to be in the $1000-range.
Well, in 1980, a Sharp microwave oven cost about $500 -- which would set you back $1,443 today.
