Scott Walker takes narrow lead in Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics poll of likely Iowa caucus voters

Scott Walker leads tight GOP pack in new Iowa Poll. (Des Moines Register, 2/1/2015)

Reminds me of the story of the blind men and the elephant.
"He's in a sweet spot," pollster J. Ann Selzer said. "People who don't want an ultra-conservative think he's OK. People who don't want a moderate think he's OK."

Iowa caucus voters represent a minority of Republican voters in the state (16.7% in 2012) and tend to have, on average, a more conservative political outlook.  Rick Santorum took 1st place in 2012, Mike Huckabee in 2008.
