They should have asked, laments a Wisconsin Interrnational School parent
DePere private school files for bankruptcy. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 7/20/2014)
According to the article, fundraising efforts fell 30% short.
But Nicole Donart-Manty thinks that some people would have dug deeper, although she doesn't necessarily include herself in this group. "If they had said something, I am sure parents and families would have opened their pockets."
Nicole had recently made an $815 payment for her son's kindergarten tuition. The total bill is $8,150.
The school needed $500,000 to balance assets of $50,000 with liabilities of about $550,000. Divide that half million by the 120 students the school was "on pace" to enroll for the 2014-15 school year, down from an actual 171 the previous year, and you can determine how wide pockets needed to be opened. To the tune of $4,167 per student.
You might also wonder what the hell else was going on here.
