New director, Vicki Lenz, has vision for Menasha library. (Appleton Post-Crescent,

Excerpt: Vicki Lenz, circulation services supervisor at the Appleton Public Library, has been named director of the Elisha D. Smith Public Library.
Lenz, a Keil native, has worked for Appleton for 12 years. She had served three years as library director in Keil prior to 1999 after seven years working as automation librarian for the Outagamie Waupaca Library System.
"I'm really excited and happy," said Lenz, who lives in the Town of Menasha. "My emphasis will be on making that library the center of community life. I'm going to try to reach out to the people that aren't using the library now."
She starts her new duties on June 27 at a starting salary of $75,000 per year.
Jill Enos, Library Board president and chair of the search committee, said Lenz was one of three candidates interviewed.
"Her background, her management style, her awareness of the critical role of libraries in the future, and her understanding of the specific needs of our community and the larger Fox Cities will be great assets in leading our library forward," Enos said.
