Voter ID bill gets Iowa Senate OK after contentious debate.  (Des Moines Register, 3/23/2017)
The bill is officially supported by the Iowa Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. 
It is opposed by a long list of groups, including the 
  • American Civil Liberties Union of Iowa
  • Iowa State Association of Counties
  • AARP Iowa 
  • Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement
  • Iowa State Education Association, 
  • League of Women Voters of Iowa
  • League of United Latin American Citizens 
  • Iowa Developmental Disabilities Counci 
  • One Iowa Education Fund 
  • Iowa Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO  
  • Interfaith Alliance of Iowa Action Fund.
