47.2% of U.S. public libraries are open less than 40 hours per week.

States with the largest percentage of libraries open less than 10 hours per week:
  • 15.8% - North Dakota (12 libraries)
  • 13.9% - Alaska (10 libraries)
  •   7.4% - Nebraska (16 libraries)
  •   7.0% - Maine (15 libraries)
  •   5.7% - Vermont (9 libraries)
