Retiring Guy lived in Great Falls from November 1952 until July 1957. I made my first visit to a public library there, accompanied by my dad. Even remember what I checked out: Curious George. The library building pictured here opened ion 1967.

This is the place I remember.

“It has been made clear that the City of Great Falls and Cascade County have no additional funds from their regular funding mechanisms to increase funding for the library,” McIntyre said. “So, we are asking for a special election to be held on June 6th. We’re requesting 15 mills, which is about $1.5 million, which would increase the annual tax on $200,000 home by approximately $40.50.”
The additional mill levy funding would increase the Great Falls Public Library’s annual budget from roughly $1.5 million to $2.7 million and would pay for the addition of 12 full-time employees, increased funding for building repair and maintenance, and more money for computers, books, and research materials.
