Five-story apartment building proposed for corner of Bedford, West Washington. (Capital Times, 5/4/2018)
Brendan Baxter, vice president of Kayser Automotive Group, is proposing to tear down the current two-story building at 555 West Washington Ave. on the corner of Bedford Street and to build a 44-unit apartment complex.
"We’re really trying to re-establish that historic residential Bassett neighborhood," Baxter said.
The proposed development site has a historic connection to Baxter's family business. In the early 1940s, the site was a car dealership.
Next step: Madison Urban Design Commission review on May 23.
