Egg Habor Community Center
New branch library possible. (Green Bay Press Gazette, 10/26/2012)
Excerpt: The first visioning meeting in late July focused on what to include in a new building. That brought strong suggestions to make an expanded Door County Library branch the focal point. Additionally, attendees suggested public restrooms, a visitor center and space for a permanent exhibit related to the Niagara Escarpment — the bluffs overlooking Green Bay that run the length of the peninsula.
From "Village History"
The Egg Harbor Women's Club lobbied successfully to provide a library in the Village. Their gift of furniture and shelving helped to establish the Egg Harbor Branch of the Door County Library in 1969. The library was first located in one of the rooms in the Granary Shops complex. The building was eventually sold and the library moved in the old stone church for several months until it moved to its new location in the community center.
