Walker's jobs agenda
Editorial: Jobs session not hitting the mark. (Oshkosh Northwestern, 10/24/2011)
Excerpt: This jobs session includes legislation that:
» Allows school officials to use standardized tests to help decide whether to discipline or fire teachers.
» Prohibits insurance plans that will be offered in the state under the federal health law from covering some abortions.
» Limits the amount plaintiff's attorneys can charge in some cases to three times the amount of any monetary award.
» Lowers the amount of interest that people who successfully sue for injuries can collect on their judgments.
» Repeals the law requiring hunters in certain areas to kill an antlerless deer before they bag a buck.
» Tightens the standards for expanding school vouchers.
Looks like the only thing harder to find than a job in Wisconsin is a jobs bill during the legislature's special session on jobs.
