Wilson Free Library Celebrates Its Centennial

Timeline.
1909. Members of the Delphic Circle, a local women's group, attend a meeting of the Western Federation of Women’s Clubs in Salamanca, and learn of a campaign to bring public libraries to rural communities.
1910. First organization meeting in Wilson.
1911. Provisional charter issued. Arthur Dobbs opens the first library in a room in his home and served as the first librarian.
1919. Library rents rooms on second floor of “Blake Block” on Young Street.
1929. Purchase of former Haner Grocery Store for library's first permanent home at 265 Young Street. The library remains at this address.
1959. Library joins the predecessor of the Niagara, Orleans and Genesee Counties Library System (NIOGA).
1989. $300,000 expansion doubles the size of the library.
1991. Expansion and renovation project completed.

At first I thought was a Canadian library. If so, it would only be 75 years old with the exchange rate.
