Louise was an especially popular name during the first third of the 20th century, spending 35 years (1900-1934) in the top 40.  She peaked at #17 from 1912 through 1914.  She experienced an increasing steep decline after World War II, falling off the chart after 1991 but recently making a very modest reappearance.
