Harry Kershaw (1920-2014) Warren High School Class of 1938

Warren Times Observer

End of the line.  Last remnant of industrial leader Struthers Wells leaving Warren.  (Warren Times Observer, 4/13/2013)

Contributing to decades of lost jobs in northwestern Pennsylvania.   At its height Struthers, which was in business in Warren for 162 years, employed more than 1,000 people in Warren County and nearly 5,000 between shops in Titusville and Warren.

It currently has 16 people working in rented offices on Clark Street.

One of the primary reasons why Warren, which once promoted itself as the "Home of 15,000 Friendly People", has lost more than 1/3 of its population since the 1950s.

Harry is described as Bluffer.....Why Teachers Get gray....active.....imperturbable.....never in a hurry....wise-cracking.

Harry was one of most popular names for boys -- consistently in the top 30 -- for a half century.  Since the end of World War II, his decline has accelerated.  Not even a popular prince can help him out.

A popular song during Harry's senior year at Warren High School.
