Assembly Bill 1, introduced by Reps. Jeremy Thiesfeldt, R-Fond du Lac, and Jessie Rodriguez, R-Franklin, allows for public schools that don't meet academic progress requirements and then don't follow through on an improvement plan to be converted into independent charter schools.
