Grooming in the Name of the Lord (#97 in a series)

Yet another sordid dispatch from Texas

Screengrab and headline: KDFW, 2/14/2025

David Sentendrey and Gerardo Martinez write:
The Forth [sic] Worth church denies knowing anything about the allegations against a former Newman International Academy teacher's aide, who is charged with having an improper relationship with a student.
A former coach there is also charged with grooming, and the former principal is charged with an attempt to cover up allegations.

Fired Ottawa County Michigan executive and failed congressional candidate John Gibbs finds work at the Trump Employment Agency (TEA)

Headline:  mlive, 2/14/2025
After his first stint with HUD, Gibbs ran for Congress in West Michigan but lost in the November 2022 election.
Just two months later, a highly conservative faction of Ottawa County commissioners appointed him as the county’s new administrator. They fired then-Administrator John Shay in the process.
Then, in February 2024, trouble developed between Gibbs and the same faction of commissioners tied to the Ottawa Impact political platform.
He was fired in late February 2024, for alleged misconduct, although Gibbs denied the allegations.

By the way, Gibbs got his butt kicked in that 2022 election.

Day 23,730 of Chuck Grassley as an elected official. What has he done for Iowa lately?

Headline:  Des Moines Register, 2/14/2025
U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley said this week he doesn’t think farmers “have anything to worry about,” given a federal judge’s order to lift the government’s broad freeze on spending. The administration's appeal of the order was denied Tuesday.
But Aaron Lehman, a central Iowa farmer who is president of the Iowa Farmers Union, isn’t convinced that the administration will comply.
The new president’s resistance to paying the federal government’s obligations has some farmers concerned the administration also may not honor Congress’ decision in December to allocate $31 billion to farmers struggling with a two-year economic downturn and damage from extreme weather.
