All four Republican candidates for governor are not just running against Democratic incumbent Tony Evers and each other — they're taking aim at the most effective GOP lawmaker in Wisconsin. 
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is persona non grata in the Republican primary for governor after spending years successfully pushing legislative efforts that accomplished many of the goals sought by each of the candidates. That includes scrutinizing former President Donald Trump's 2020 election loss by hiring a former Supreme Court justice at taxpayer expense to look into the outcome that was already confirmed by judges, audits and recounts.
