GET ME REWRITE: On fire with the virus, Chippewa County Wisconsin residents struggle to keep up

Chippewa Herald, 10/28/2020
Hospitals are quickly filling up, Weideman added. The two hospitals in Chippewa County are at or near capacity, and she said that it is possible someone admitted locally could be transferred elsewhere in the northwest region of the state. About 74% of hospital beds in the northwest corner of the state are now being used, including 84% of intensive care beds, she said. About 21% of ventilators also are in use.
From March 25 until September 30, Chippewa County reported a total of 585 coronavirus cases, an average of 3 new cases per day.

Since September 30, the county has reported an additional 1,100 cases, an increase of nearly 100%.  Daily average during this period is 39 new cases per day.  Daily average for the past week is 67 new cases per day.
