Majority of Village of Weston voters say, "Walk a mile in your own friggin' shoes."
Fifty-five percent of voters said no to the ballot question, opposing a $60,000 annual increase to the village’s property taxes to pay for public transportation. Before the referendum, advocates rallied and tried to educate the public about transit’s importance to disabled and elderly members of the community who rely on it to get to medical and social appointments and to shop and work.
