Such as the one in North Carolina that Walter Jones gave up due to health reasons earlier this year.  He was first elected to Congress in 1995 and easily re-elected 11 times.

Of the 17 candidates, 14 were men and 3 were women, with the men collecting 78.9% of the vote.

Voters in coastal North Carolina might not be ready to elect a woman to Congress.
