Ottumwa Iowa Loves Input

Video transcription.   The Ottumwa Public Library wants your input for new book ideas to add to their collection.

The Ottumwa Public Library will be holding a book selection party this Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

At this open house for the public, laptops, catalogs, and book reviews will be available for perusing to make suggestions for next month's collection.  Refreshments will also be served.  The event coincides with the beginning of holiday shopping season, so these books can double as potential gift ideas.  If a book idea is chosen, and most of them will be, the person who suggested it will be first on the hold list and the first to check it out when it arrives.

Sonja Farrell, the Director of the Ottumwa Public Library, says she's eager to hear the public's opinions.

"I just excited for people to come in here and pick what they want to read so that we're not trying to read people's minds, and we're able to listen from the perspective of our patrons.

No conflict time.  The public is encouraged to attend two input sessions during which opinions on the budget will be discussed. The first will be Tuesday at 6:30, right before the regular council meeting, and the second on December 3 at the same time.
