GET ME REWRITE: Bipartisanship in Iowa begins and ends with the Iowa caucuses


That would be ECONOMICALLY powerful.  Reynolds and U.S. Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, all Republicans, released a joint statement Tuesday morning applauding Iowa's role in the presidential nomination calendar. U.S. Rep. Steve King and Iowa Republican Party chair Jeff Kaufmann also preached patience. The statements highlighted the longstanding agreement between the state's major parties to protect Iowa's powerful first-in-the-nation place[emphasis added]

In other word$, their defen$e has nothing to do with the voter$.
