In three years, the state has built 50 miles of the wall through November, which is only 6% of the 805 miles the state has designated for building. The wall, in its current state, is not a singular structure, but rather dozens of fragmented sections scattered across six counties, some less than 100 yards wide and others more than 70 miles apart — making it easy for people to walk around the wall. Each mile costs between $17 and $41 million.
