Excerpt: With the need for a new space imminent, Helwig said she would like to get started on the financial aspect of the project as soon as possible.
“If it is a go, we’d like to start campaigning and fundraising for a new building,” she added, again alluding to the cramped nature of the present building. “ ... We are tight at the seams. If anyone’s been in there, you know it’s tight.”
Though the campaign to erect a new library has been ongoing for many years, hitting many bumps in the road along the way, Helwig said she remains optimistic.
“If someone came to us and gave us a property ... we’d start tomorrow,” she asserted. “ ... There are plans that were designed before I came here that are available.”
