Manitowoc business news: Schuette building renovations underway.  (Herald Times Reporter, 10/12/2018)
The plan is for the second and third floors to be apartments, the mayor said, and the first floor will be open for commercial or restaurant development. The entire project should be completed by the end of 2019.
[Mayor Justin] Nickels noted the city is supporting the work through a tax-incremental finance district, or TIF, a tool by which taxes that would have been collected within the district as a result of increased property values are instead earmarked to cover costs of the redevelopment over the life of the TIF.
