In the August primary election, many people were closely watching how the Ottawa County results would shake out.
The primary served as a sort-of referrendum on the far-right Ottawa Impact commissioners who took over county government following the 2022 election.
The interest in the Republican primary races was so high that it crashed the county’s election website.
