Climate change as a matter of fact: Emaciated polar bear on Somerset Island above the Arctic Circle in Canada

‘We stood there crying’: Emaciated polar bear seen in 'gut-wrenching'.  (Washington Post, 12/9/2017)
The world’s tragedies often have images that end up defining them: A five-year old screaming in Iraq after her parents were killed by U.S. soldiers. A starving child being stalked by a vulture during a ruthless famine in Sudan.
A video released this week of an extremely emaciated polar bear has served as a similar purpose: as a rallying cry and stand-in for a largely unmitigated environmental disaster.

Dear Kenosha News editorial staff, Right now it's just Dane County that's booming

Dane County accounts for 47% of the Wisconsin's estimated population growth since the 2010 federal census.

Moreover, Dane County accounts for 77.6% of the state's estimated population growth (from July 1, 2015 to July 1, 2016)

Source of above 2 graphs:  Madison, Dane County lead the state population growth in latest U.S. Census estimates.  (Wisconsin State Journal, 5/25/2017)

***Dane County has already exceeded its 2020 estimated population.

Our view:  Wisconsin is booming.  (Kenosha News, 12/7/2017)
It's likely that a lot of that money will end up in Illinois.  On the day the gates open at the Foxconn facility, thousands of employees will start earning paychecks for jobs that don’t exist today. That money, for the most part goes back into the economy — one way or the other. In addition to paying mortgages and car payments, even groceries and gasoline, some of that money will also go into savings and investments — the fuel that ultimately drives our economy.

All of Wisconsin is not booming.  And in the northern and western parts of the state, Foxconn won't make a bit of difference.
