Glenn Grothman has a thing for Jamie Farr in drag

As quoted in Glenn Grothman cites transgender bathroom legal battle as sign of 'moral decline'.  (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 5/14/2016)
Grothman also hailed the days when a character from the 1970s TV show M.A.S.H. wearing a dress was a comedy routine. The character, Cpl. (and later Sgt.) Klinger, wore women’s clothing so that he would be judged mentally unfit for military service.

Grothman learns life's lesson from a 1970 movie and subsequent long-running TV show (1972-1983) based on the misadventures of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War, which took place from June 25, 1950 through July 27, 1953.  Creepy.

The variant spelling of 'Dianne' didn't fare as well, having a much shorter and less lofty run, with her peak achieved in 1945 at #72.

Sheldon Adelson plays musical chairs with Presidential candidates

On 2/1/2016, CBS News reported that Adelson and his wife donated the maximum allowed by federal law to Ted Cruz.

It also reported about rumors that Adelson had an interest in backing Marco Rubio.

Four days later.....

Adelson also showed some interest in Scott Walker for a time, to the tune of a $650,000 donation to the Republican Party of Wisconsin.  (Not to mention $260,000 to Walker's own campaign.)

Not such a big honor, Donald.

A closer look at Wisconsin's population loss: Waushara County

The population of Waushara County follows a general pattern we've seen before.  The county experienced a period of sustained growth after its founding.  In this case, it lasted until 1910, when the population initially peaked at 18,886.  Decline followed growth, to the tune of a 28% population loss by 1960.  Another period of growth followed, which results in a population increase of 81%.  Since the 2010 census, Waushara County has lost an estimated 463 residents, or 1.9% of its population.

The City of Wautoma is the county seat.

Source:  Wikipedia + U.S. Census Bureau (2015)

As of July 1, 2014, 22.5% of Waushara County's population is 65 and over, compared to the state average of 15.2%.   Its 0-to-4 demographic is 4.8% vs. the state average 5.9%.

Arriving late to the party, Melissa Moss has no idea what she's talking about

Excerpts from Melissa Moss' op-ed piece, Frac sand protesters not representative of La Crosse, interspersed with headline.

But these protesters weren’t just protesting sand mining, they were also protesting lower gas prices and countless opportunities for job creation thanks to the sand mining industry.

Many of us are thankful that gas prices are low and that jobs are coming back to the region.

Sand mining has the potential to bring hundreds of jobs to northwestern and western Wisconsin,

The facts are clear: Lower gas prices and new jobs are good for families in La Crosse. Sand mining is a win for La Crosse and a win for Wisconsin.

This will come as no surprise.  Melissa is a member of the Wisconsin chapter of the Koch Brothers-fueled Americans for Prosperity.

Yes, the logging industry is what initially attracted residents to Waupaca County.  Its population initially peaked in 1920 at 34,200.  Except for a slight dip in the following census, the county population grew steadily through 2010.  Since then, the county has lost an estimated 465 residents, or 0.9% of its population.

The City of Waupaca is the county seat.
