GET ME REWRITE: Ronna McDaniel handpicked to lead the Trump Cult

    New York Times, 1/8/2021
The fealty to Mr. Trump was made plain on Friday when the state chairs and the committeemen and women who make up the R.N.C.’s governing board unanimously re-elected Ms. McDaniel, Mr. Trump’s handpicked chair.

Original 12/25/2020 post, "Meet the most servile (read: brain-dead) U.S. House members of the Cult of Trump", starts here.

    Washington Post, 12/24/2020
What “continuing to go forward” looks like is Republican allies of the president meeting with him Monday to discuss plans to prevent Biden’s victory from being certified in early January. Lawmakers including Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio,) Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), Rep. Mo Brooks (R.-Ala.) and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R.-Tex.) were in attendance, all of them among a long list of Republicans who have remained faithful to Trump even in defeat.

On EU's List Of Retaliatory Tariffs Are Wisconsin Cranberries.  (Wisconsin Public Radio, 3/7/2018
[Tom] Lochnero [Wisconsin Cranberry Grower's Association] said growers are calling on Wisconsin's congressional delegation to convince the Trump administration to change it's mind or at least narrow the proposed tariffs on steel and ultra-thin aluminum, adding that they are hopeful they'll be able to convince the president to change course.

Keeping tabs on authors in LINKcat: Eric Jerome Dickey

    New York Times, 1/6/2021
Vivid female characters became a hallmark of his career, which will encompass 29 novels when “The Son of Mr. Suleman” is published in April.
“I actually get inside their heads and develop them from the inside out,” he said. “I read a lot of female magazines, anything from Cosmo to Essence. I watch my friends, female friends. I watch my girlfriends, the little bitty things they do. I listen to things they say, and a lot of times I read between the lines.”
The characters he created, especially the women, tended to have inner strength and a deadpan sense of humor.
