GET ME REWRITE: Menomonee Falls school board president Nina Christensen and her newest puppet Superintendent David Munoz run and hide from best-selling author Jodi Picoult

HeadlineWisconsin Public Radio, 11/10/2023
Picoult’s books have been banned in about 41 school districts in the U.S. But she also didn’t want to let her book, which is about a school shooting, disappear quietly.
Picoult reached out to Menomonee Falls Superintendent David Muñoz and School Board President Nina Christensen and asked them for a Zoom meeting, so they could explain to her why her book was targeted.
She didn’t get a response
"I've written, I think, three times now asking when they'd like to meet, and I've heard absolutely nothing," Picoult said during an interview Friday with Wisconsin Public Radio. "I’m going to hazard to guess that it's a lot easier to be a bully when you’re not face to face with someone."
Muñoz and Christensen did not respond to requests for comment[emphasis added]

GET ME REWRITE: GOP lapdog and former Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice ordered to produce records related to sham impeachment panel

HeadlineWisconsin State Journal, 11/10/2023
Former state Supreme Court Justice Patience Roggensack has been ordered by a Dane County Circuit Court judge to produce all records related to her involvement in a panel of former justices tasked with exploring the prospect of impeaching a current member of the state’s high court.
Dane County Circuit Judge Frank Remington issued the order Friday after attorneys representing liberal watchdog group American Oversight told the court that the other two former justices on the panel, David Prosser and Jon Wilcox, had provided all requested documents. Remington has given Roggensack 30 days to “produce all records within her possession relating to her work as a member of the panel.”

GET ME REWRITE: Wisconsin MAGA election denial queen Janel Brandtjen smacked down by GOP colleagues on Assembly floor

HeadlineMilwaukee Journal Sentinel, 11/9/2023
A Republican lawmaker's effort to initiate impeachment proceedings against Wisconsin's top elections official was rebuffed on the Assembly floor during Thursday's session dedicated to implementing changes — many with bipartisan support — to the state's election laws.
Rep. Janel Brandtjen, R-Menomonee Falls, requested unanimous consent to suspend the rules toward the beginning of the session and take up a resolution containing 15 articles of impeachment against Wisconsin Elections Administrator Meagan Wolfe she introduced with four other GOP members of the Assembly in September.
Many of the impeachment articles contain accusations that have been debunked or are based on decisions made by the bipartisan panel of commissioners who oversee Wolfe.

Moms for Liberty short out in Iowa

But the unofficial 2023 results were an unambiguous win for Democrats and progressive groups in the Des Moines metro, central Iowa and elsewhere in the state. Democratic-backed slates were victorious in districts such as Johnston, Ankeny and West Des Moines. Few of the candidates promoted by area Republican legislators such as Rep. Eddie Andrews, R-Johnston, and Rep. Dan Gehlbach, R-Urbandale, managed to win a seat. Just one of the 13 candidates endorsed statewide by Moms for Liberty, a group that lobbied for the education law changes, won their race.

GET ME REWRITE: West Virginia is a lost cause for the Democrats, with or without Manchin

You can count on the New York Times to ride the Oblivion Express when it comes to reporting on Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Instead, Mr. Manchin, who was likely to face a strong Republican challenger to keep his Senate seat in a deeply red state, said he would continue exploring whether there was an appetite in the country for a centrist third-party bid for the presidency. That prospect has alarmed many Democrats, who fear such a run could doom President Biden’s hopes of remaining in the White House.

GET ME REWRITE: According to the latest Marquette Law School poll, Wisconsin's Christian nationalists are overwhelming in favor of the overturning of Roe v. Wade

Poll resultsMarquette Law School

As defined by Christianity Today, Christian nationalism is
the belief that the American nation is defined by Christianity, and that the government should take active steps to keep it that way. Popularly, Christian nationalists assert that America is and must remain a “Christian nation”—not merely as an observation about American history, but as a prescriptive program for what America must continue to be in the future.

GET ME REWRITE: Wisconsin GOP and its legislative leaders are out of touch with voters

Headline Wisconsin Examiner, 11/9/2023
Poll resultsMarquette Law School
In the latest Marquette poll, released Wednesday, 57% of Wisconsin voters who were polled said they opposed the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and 80% said abortion is either somewhat important or one of the most important issues to them. In a head-to-head rematch, Wisconsinites also said they prefer President Joe Biden to Donald Trump.
Instead of listening to the majority, Republicans are putting their hands over their ears, talking loudly, and, at the state level, passing bills designed to muffle their opponents and make it harder to vote. It doesn’t take a futurist to see the limitations of this approach.

Day 452 of aftermath Wisconsin 2020 election review clown show: Incompetent, incorrigible Michael Gableman keeps running off at the mouth

Headline:  Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 11/7/2023

Blah, blah, blah......
In an interview Monday with conservative radio show host Joe Giganti on Green Bay's WTAQ, Gableman suggested to listeners that the floor session would be the "last chance" to impeach Wolfe. There are no time limits on such resolutions, however.
"If Speaker Vos or anyone else voluntarily or unnecessarily gives up that power (of impeachment), they are shutting the people out of their ability to get rid of people like Meagan Wolfe," Gableman said.
"If they don't impeach her tomorrow — that is if 50 members of the Assembly don't vote on it and send it over to the Senate so the Senate can consider it — we are going to have Meagan Wolfe for the foreseeable future."
The lawmakers — Brandtjen of Menomonee Falls, Rep. Scott Allen of Waukesha, Rep. Elijah Behnke of Oconto, Rep. Ty Bodden of Hilbert and Rep. Chuck Wichgers of Muskego — argued impeachment is warranted because Wolfe challenged a Senate vote to fire her.

Glenn Youngkin and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

Headline:  Washington Post, 11/8/2023
The Democrats’ capture of the state legislature in Virginia on Tuesday is nothing short of humiliating for Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who staked immense political capital on the races by making them straightforwardly about his ambition to pass a 15-week abortion ban he has championed. But the GOP governor’s comeuppance isn’t just about the durability of abortion rights as a political winner for Democrats. It also shows that right-wing culture-warring on education — built around a “parents’ rights” agenda limiting school discussion of race and gender — has utterly lost its political potency, allowing Democrats to respond with their own affirmative liberal cultural agenda.
