A Democrat Deft With a Firearm Tightens a Race for the Senate.  (The New York Times, 10/22/2016)
A charismatic former military intelligence officer and Missouri’s current secretary of state, Mr. Kander, 35, faced an entrenched Republican incumbent in a place where Donald J. Trump seemed destined to win.
Then Mr. Kander released a television ad last month in which he put an AR-15 assault rifle together blindfolded while reciting a script about gun rights, and started assailing his rival, Senator Roy D. Blunt, on his lobbyist ties.

One of the British Invasion bands, the Searchers scored their 6th single to reach the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964 with "When You Walk in the Room", written by Jackie DeShannon.  It debuted, inauspiciously, at #97 for the week ending October 17th, peaked at #35, and fell away after 7 weeks.  DeShannon's version spent a single week on the Hot 100 in January 1964, at #99.

Dear Alberta Darling, Truly, it's time for you to retire

Quoted in Alberta Darling: Trump’s policies reflect women’s priorities.  (Capital Times, 10/24/2016)

Let's provide Alberta with some perspective.

Meanwhile, in the time it has taken you to read until this point, at least one American has died from a heart attack. Within the hour, a fellow citizen will have died from skin cancer. Roughly five minutes after that, a military veteran will commit suicide. And by the time you turn the lights off to sleep this evening, somewhere around 100 Americans will have died throughout the day in vehicular accidents.

Quoted in What’s in a Name? When It’s ‘Trump Place,’ It’s a Revolt.  (The New York Times, 10/24/2016)
Her building is part of a parcel between 72nd and 59th Streets along the Hudson River that Mr. Trump developed with a group of Hong Kong billionaires starting in the 1990s. Seven of the buildings in the area were emblazoned with his name. But while some of the condominium towers in the development are still managed by the Trump Organization, the three rental buildings now belong to a company called Equity Residential, which also manages them.
