Why do Republicans call it 'worker freedom'? Because the Koch Brothers say so

The Koch Brothers' American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) provides 'copy-ready' legislation on the topic of Worker Freedom, a 'Right to Work Act' being at the top of the list.

Wisconsin Republicans certainly weren't shy about cribbing from it.

The Insignificance of the Iowa Caucuses

Republicans Set Up Shop in Iowa, Where Few Will Prosper.  (The New York Times, 3/6/2015)
The sliver of the party’s registered voters that turns out on a frigid winter night to caucus for a presidential candidate is smaller than the population of Stamford, Conn., which is about 121,500. Caucus-goers are 99 percent white, and far more likely to be rural and evangelical Christians than Republicans are nationally.

Oh, and their recent record of picking winners is not so good. Just ask President Rick Santorum.

100 Years of Frank Sinatra: "You'll Never Know"

Frank Sinatra recorded "You'll Never Know" in New York City in June 1943.  The Popular Song website ranks it as #26 among the top popular songs of the year.

Music by Harry Warren ("That's Amore", "There Will Never Be Another You").  Lyrics by Mack Gordon ("Chattanooga Choo Choo", "Down Argentine Way").

The song was inspired by a poem written by Dorothy Fern Norris, a war bride from Oklahoma whose husband was fighting in World War II.

Sung by Alice Faye, the song was introduced in the movie Hello, Frisco, Hello and won the Academy Award for 'Best Original Song'.

In the meantime, I'll never know exactly when or where this group photo was taken.  It might have during my dad's Augustana Seminary internship in New England, although I think he would have been balder, other photos from this period of his life providing the evidence.   (Dad is at the far left in the 3rd row.)

‘Religious liberty’ measure passes Georgia Senate.  (Atlanta Journal Constitution, 3/5/2015)
The proposal has been at the center of one of the fiercest debates at the Capitol this year, with supporters casting it as a new line of defense to protect people of any religion from interference. Opponents warn it’s a discriminatory end run on the First Amendment that could allow business owners to cite religious beliefs to deny people service.
