Ottawa County Michigan mops up after another mess made by far-right Ottawa Impact member Joe Moss

John Tunison reports:
Kleinjans, a Democrat, had been a MSU Extension community nutrition instructor until he was terminated in June 2024.
The termination came after he won a special recall election to fill the Ottawa County Commission District 2 seat.
Kleinjans later filed a federal lawsuit, claiming he lost his job over “political pressure.”
He accused Moss, who was Ottawa County Board chair in 2023-2024, of meeting with MSU Extension staff in November, 2023 to talk about him and his job. The meeting allegedly came a day after Kleinjans announced he planned to run against then District 2 Commissioner Lucy Ebel in the special election.
Moss allegedly voiced support for moving Kleinjans to another job or location, according to the lawsuit, and suggested Kleinjans’ job represented a conflict of interest with his duties as a commissioner.
Moss is co-founder of the highly conservative political platform Ottawa Impact that controlled a majority on the board until January 2025.
