The rest of the Looney Tunes Ottawa Impact cast should be shittin' their britches.
Voters in the Holland area decided to oust an Ottawa County commissioner tied to an ultra-conservative platform.
In a recall election, incumbent Republican Lucy Ebel lost to Democratic challenger Chris Kleinjans.
The vote was 2,502 for Kleinjans and 1,665 for Ebel.
Ebel was elected in November 2022 and took office in January 2023 as part of the Ottawa Impact political platform. They hold a majority on the board.
Ottawa County is not as solidly Republicans as it used to be. In 1984, Ronald Reagan won the county by nearly 60 percentage points. By 2020, Donald Trump's margin of victory was sliced to 21.4 percentage points.
