According to the Siler City Police Department, an investigation into 57-year-old Nelson Alexander Chay began in April after officers received a tip about the distribution of child sexual abuse material. The investigation found Chay was viewing and distributing child sexual abuse material through Kik.
Police said they executed a search warrant at Chay’s home on May 29 with the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations. They seized mobile and electronic devices that contained child sexual abuse material.
