Neenah taxpayers face hit in city budget. (Appleton Post-Crescent, 10/25/2011)
Excerpt: The owner of a $150,000 home would face an additional $64 in taxes and fees next year under the 2012 city budget introduced by Mayor George Scherck.
A projected $32 savings in school taxes would soften the hit by the city but still leave an average homeowner paying more for municipal and school taxes.
Scherck's 347-page budget calls for a 1.6 percent increase in the tax levy and a $40 recycling fee for homeowners.
Hat tip to Stephen Process, Neenah Public Library Director, for sharing the following information. The 2012 library budget is pegged at a 2.09 decrease in expenditures (-$40,920); if you add in increased revenues, our net effect on the levy would be -5.52% (-$67,340) versus this year.
