USA box office for the 38th weekend 2017-2025

USA box office on the 38th weekend of 2025 is down 13% compared to last year when "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" was the top-grossing movie.  This year "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle" is the #1 movie for the 2nd weekend in a row despite a massive 75.5% drop from its opening weekend.

And it down 42% from a 2019 when "Downton Abbey" ruled the box office.

Rebecca Rubin reports on the weekend's bombs:

Meanwhile, this weekend’s other new release, “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” cratered in sixth place with $3.5 million from 3,330 venues. The star power of Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell couldn’t overcompensate for terrible reviews (a 38% Rotten Tomatoes average) and bad buzz (a “B-” grade on CinemaScore exit polls), meaning “a big bold beautiful journey” likely won’t describe the film’s box office run. “Him” also opened at the international box office, where it bombed with $400,000 from 25 markets.
