Love it or hate it, Ottawa Impact is shaping up to be the focal point for elections this year in Republican-dominated Ottawa County.
Several controversial decisions by commissioners in the last 14 months brought high publicity, high criticism and even court drama -- all in a county typically known more for its beautiful Lake Michigan beaches, a bountiful blueberry crop, farmland and generally good schools.
At many times, spectators packed into the county board room. Sometimes, meetings stretched on for hours as dozens took the opportunity to speak for up to three minutes during public comment.
Northrup wants to see less controversy.
He is among 10 people not currently serving on the board who have filed, so far, to run in what is expected to be a hotly contested election for county board seats.
"There's Gonna Be a Showdown" by Archie Bell & the Drells" debuted at #87 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending 12/18/1968. It spent 11 weeks on the chart, peaking at #21 for 2 weeks.
