The far-right commissioners who hold a majority on the county board and made national headlines for a series of controversial decisions are generally viewed poorly in a new MLive voter survey.
The two main takeaways about Ottawa Impact’s job performance from the MLive-commissioned survey are:
- For those likely voters tracking the actions of their county government, they disapprove of the county board majority’s governance by nearly a 2-1 margin;
- A significant chunk of likely voters polled, 42%, either didn’t want to give an opinion or never heard of Ottawa Impact.
“My assessment is, that for the voters paying attention, they don’t like what they’re seeing,” said Richard Czuba, who heads up the company hired to conduct the poll. “But there’s a chunk of voters who aren’t paying attention, too.”
